The 1957 best-selling book was written by Scranton native, Jean Kerr (née Collins), who grew up on Electric Street in the city. In 1960, the book was made into a movie starring David Niven and Doris Day. Please Don’t Eat the Daisies was then made into a TV sitcom that aired on NBC in 1965-67 and starred Mark Miller and Olyphant native, Patricia Crowley.
