Two weeks ago I went to Bedford, PA to visit family. I made a quick stop at Olde Bedford Brewing Company at 109 Railroad Street. I didn't have time to sit down and sample any beer. They had 16-ounce cans of Not Your Average Joe Kölsch Style Ale, so I bought a four-pack.

Late Tuesday afternoon, I arrived in Oklahoma City. I didn't stay downtown; I stayed near the airport. After I got settled in my hotel room, I walked across the street to The Mug Scratch Kitchen & Tavern at 1800 South Meridian Avenue, formerly the Frosted Mug Grill & Big Bar. There are three bars in the establishment. I found an available seat at a bar with four taps. I ordered dinner, and had two draughts: COOP Ale Works F5 IPA (brewed in Oklahoma City), and Shiner Frosted Blonde Ale (brewed in Shiner, TX). The following evening, I stopped for takeout at Schlotzsky's and ate in my hotel room. I again went to The Mug, and sat at a bar with more taps. I had ERWO brewed by Roughtail Brewing Company (Oklahoma City). I found out that ERWO stands for "Everything Rhymes with Orange." I then had another COOP Ale Works brew, Horny Toad Blonde. The last evening of my visit, we ventured near the edge of downtown to Angry Scotsman Brewing at 704 West Reno Avenue. We ordered pizza from Joey's Pizzeria. They delivered to the taproom. I had three four-ounce beers: Dark Velvet (nitro draught), Peppercorn Saison (draught), Rusty Kiltpin (draught). As a result of the trip, I was able to add three additional breweries from which I sampled beer, and seven more beers to my list. Check out my beer list at my website, The Lager57 Beer List.
My book, Microbreweries, Nanobreweries, and Brewpubs: Histories of 241 American Craft Beer Companies is available from the publisher, as well as other online vendors listed in my beer website. I checked the WorldCat website to see which participating libraries have my book in their collection.
https://worldcat.org/en/title/1369308880 The High Plains Library District, Greeley, Colorado was the first participating library to order my book. They ordered two copies in February. They just completed processing the book. It appears that one copy is out on loan. I'm assuming that the first borrower requested the library to purchase the book. It looks like the second copy is shelved at the LINC Library Innovation Center at 501 8th Avenue in Greeley. https://hpldencore.mylibrary.us/iii/encore/record/C__Rb2324800?lang=eng You can purchase Microbreweries, Nanobreweries, and Brewpubs: Histories of 241 American Craft Beer Companies directly from McFarland & Company, Publishers as well other online outlets such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, BAM, Walmart, and Target. |
